A test telescope advances the LISA observatory programme
NASA reported on 8 October that its LISA contribution had reached an engineering test-telescope milestone. The assembly is a step towards flight hardware for the ESA-led gravitational-wave mission, planned for the middle of the next decade. Its very stable glass structure serves a demanding measurement problem. The milestone expands future observing capacity; it does not mean LISA is operating or has detected a new wave.
