The ONS release of 8 October puts AI use at 30% of businesses in September, rising to 51% among firms with 250 or more employees. Among AI users with at least ten employees, 6% reported lower headcount as a result. These are voluntary survey responses, not evidence that AI caused an economy-wide employment decline.
