WHO publishes a route from institutions to community care
New WHO guidance addresses the practical transition from long psychiatric hospital stays to care in the community. It connects treatment with housing, social support, education and work, and calls for people with lived experience to participate in decisions. WHO cites its existing survey showing that only 9% of reporting countries had completed the transition. The guidance is new; that survey figure is context, not a new count of reforms completed today.
